Available Positions: Sales Associate and Office Assistant in Austin and San Antonio

Sales Associate

Sales Associate Role Summary: We are in need of a talented, energetic and self-motivated sales associate. In this position, you will facilitate sales, rentals, process incoming and outgoing repairs, and assist with the day-to-day operations of the shop.

Sales Associate Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Greet customers upon arrival and assist as needed; get to know each customer and develop long-term relationships.

  • Increase personal knowledge of instruments and bows for sale and rent, accessories, strings, and general instrument maintenance.

  • Assist with daily and ongoing sales. The sale process at a violin shop can be a long process as musicians search for their next instrument. Listen to the needs and wants of the customer, provide suggestions and comments as requested and, in general, guide the customer through the sale.

  • Assist with rentals: new rentals, returned rentals and rental exchanges. Become familiar with our rental contract, rental credit accrual and overall rental process. Clean rentals as they are returned to prepare for the next customer.

  • Assist with inventory as needed.

  • Assist with processing incoming and outgoing repairs. Help maintain clear communication between customers and repair department.

  • Assist with the overall cleanliness, organization, and upkeep of the shop.

  • Become familiar with shop and company policies and protocols.

Sales Associate Job Requirements

  • Must be able to play a stringed instrument (violin, viola, cello or bass) at a professional or collegiate level. Must be comfortable performing in front of others.

  • Must be organized, punctual, dependable and presentable. Business casual attire is expected.

  • Previous customer service and/or retail experience is preferred but not required.

  • Must be able to work during shop opening hours, including Saturdays (flexibility of schedule is available with advance notice).

Office Assistant

Office Assistant Role Summary: We are in need of a talented, energetic and self-motivated office assistant. In this position, you will be working behind-the-scenes in our San Antonio office.

Office Assistant Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist with rental contracts. Become familiar with our rental contract, rental credit accrual and overall rental process. Process new rental contracts, setup automatic charges, calculate rental credit, and process paperwork when customers return their rental and end their contracts.

  • Communicate with customers. We are a full-service violin shop offering sales, repairs, and rentals. You will maintain constant contact with our rental customers, update their payment information and notify of delinquent accounts.

  • Answer phones and emails.

  • Assist with filing, copying, scanning, composing emails and letters, and data entry.

  • Become familiar with shop and company policies and protocols.

Office Assistant Job Requirements

  • Must be comfortable communicating via phone and email in a professional manner.

  • Must be organized, punctual, dependable and presentable. Business casual attire is expected.

  • Previous customer service, bookkeeping, and/or administrative assistant experience is preferred but not required.

  • Must be able to work during shop opening hours, including Saturdays (flexibility of schedule is available with advance notice).
