Labeled "Aureli Aurelio, Romano 1931"

$3,000.00

A common process in the violin world, this instrument most likely has a false label. Aureli Aurelio was a cabinet-maker and opera singer in Rome in the late 1800s, and began his violin-making career in 1910. Due to both his short life and career, Aurelio had a small output of only about 60 violins. His work’s most consistent and notable feature was his yellow spirit varnish.

Although this violin is a copy, it is still an excellent instrument. It features a bold red-orange varnish (inconsistent with Aurelio’s work) with a striking single-piece maple back with a straight medium-wide flame. This violin would be perfectly suited for an intermediate or advancing student.
