About Fernando Ferroni Violins:

Fernando Ferroni was born in 1868. He spent most of his life living and working in Florence, Italy. Ferroni first studied with Valentino De Zorzi, where trained in the Tuscan style of violin making. He developed a personal model, but he also copied the instruments of old Italian masters. He was particularly interested in the Stradivari instruments in the Cherubini collection in Florence.

In the 20th century, Ferroni became a very influential maker of the Florentine School. He presented his work at the 1937 exposition in Cremona, and won an award in Rome in 1924. Ferroni became acquainted with Dario Vettori, to whom he taught the Tuscan techniques he had learned from Candi. He made 110 violins, 12 violas, and 6 cellos during his career, all which showcase his exquisite craftsmanship and loyalty to the Italian violin making tradition.
