Instruments bearing the “Eduard Reichert” label were some of the many instruments handmade by luthiers in the German towns of Markneukirchen and Dresden at the start of the 20th century. The violins were then imported to America by G. A. Pfretzschner, a family company tracing its history of violin and bow makers to the late 17th century. Pfretzschner instruments were known for their use of excellent European woods and beautifully figured backs.
