Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, Pierre-Yves Fuchs was trained in the craft of cabinet making before learning violin making and later, bow making. He studied with prominent bow makers Gilles Duhaut, Pierre Guillaume, and Benoit Rolland before opening his own workshop with his wife, luthier Marjorie Chaxel. His bows are in the style of Peccatte, Maire, and Pajeot. This bow features a round pernambuco stick, silver fittings, and a large mother of pearl Parisian eye inlay.
